A friend and I decided to try this place out after seeing that it was recommended by Guy Fieri from the Food Network. It is a cute, laid back place to grab a drink and a snack, but overall it was just average. There is a little side bar and outdoor tables with live music. The singer/guitarist for the night sang some original songs that were pretty entertaining to us, so that helped enhance our experience. I thought the prices were a bit high ($6 for chips and salsa), but I did enjoy my berry basil sangria. The service was also a bit slow, but all the tables were occupied so they were clearly busy that night. I also had a cuban sandwich, which was tasty but did not exceed my expectations like I had hoped.

Used to be the best dive bar and place to chill in Lake Worth. Now the place is under new management. The service sucks. The portions are smaller and the beer is warm at times. My family and I have been there several times since the new ownership took over. Most likely we won't be back again.

Funny that the most recent reviewer before me talked about how much they liked the music, because I specifically came here to write a review and say how awful the music was when I was there earlier tonight. Really annoying (at one point, the singer tried a cover of the Carpenters song "Superstar" accompanied only by bongos, which was as terrible as it sounds), and really loud, preventing you from talking to anyone you were with. That said, I like this place, and wish I liked it more. Had a very friendly waitress tonight who really made an effort to find us beers off their extensive menu that we would like. The tacos (and the rest of the menu items) are a little expensive for the amount of food you get, but the grilled fish soft tacos I had tonight were really tasty. The sweetness of he pineapple salsa really goes well with the tang of the cole slaw. Personally, I think the best times to hit this place are on slow, hot nights, when there's no live music, and you can just chill at one of the picnic tables in the sand bar area or in one of the Adirondack chairs facing the street. Lake Worth is my favorite town in the area, because of the noticeably low-key vibe, and this place personifies that attitude. In sum, cool place, four stars when it's not jammed and there's no live music, but it can be two stars and annoying when it's really busy.

Went here for dinner with the husband early on a Saturday evening. Service was almost non-existent. We asked for water and got two lukewarm waters, no ice, in plastic cups with lemons floating in them. I ordered the Pionono, , with layers of ground beef and plantains, which was very bland with little ground beef. Salt livened it up a bit. Hubby ordered the barbecued pork tacos, which he said were ok but nothing special. Tried to get the waiter's attention several times without success for more water and finally my husband got up and poured it himself from a pitcher that was outside. A few minutes later waiter comes by with two new cups of ice water. We won't be back.

LOVE this place! A cute little beach-looking bar on the Ave in Lake Worth. The beer selection is always fantastic, and the staff are always very knowledgeable about whats being served. A recent afternoon found Bell's Hopslam available in the bottle and Florida Beer's Swamp Ape IPA, Rogue Dead Guy, Harpoon IPA & Inlet Brewing Monk in the Trunk on tap! The tacos are cheap and super tasty. You just cannot beat them for the price.

The outdoor seating is the best! I like this place for the craft beer selection. It's a great place to stop for one or two drinks at the beginning or end of the night. I like the cinnamon and sugar with caramel nachos for a sweet tooth. For that, it's great. The food they have fairly simple and usually pretty good. Pros - Tropical Outdoor Setting, a dozen + craft beers available Cons - fairly limited food selection

I liked this place, don't expect to be blown away, but it is a good 3.5 meal. I had the "Guy" meal. The cuban was better than average The fish tacos were loaded and done in a more authentic style with cabbage rather than lettus. If you don't mind sitting out side or pick a cool day you should enjoy your experience. I have personally hit over a dozen of guys recommendations and must admit most of them are over rated. This place fits that description, better than average but not worthy of to much hype.

Havana Hideout has some of the freshest, most delicious food I've had the pleasure of enjoying in quite a while. The restaurant is located in Lake Worth, about 30 minutes south of Jupiter, Florida. If you wanted to make the excursion from Orlando, it's about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive depending on how heavy your foot is. It's all outdoor seating which could be a problem on a hot Florida day, but if you're dressed appropriately it's not an issue, and nearly all the tables have an umbrella or offer some form of shade. Being a fan of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives on the Food Network, I knew I had to go to this place when I saw the episode as I'm a big fan of Cuban cuisine. We started off with the salsa sampler which included a salsa fresca, a chipotle salsa and a habanero salsa served with tortilla chips. All the salsas were fantastic. My favorite was the chipotle (I love the smokey flavor) but the salsa fresco and the hot habanero salsa were both nearly its equal. When our meal was done we ordered more chips, salsa fresca and the chipotle salsa to go. For my entree I had the "Get What Guy Got" (Guy Fieri host of Triple D) item from the menu, which included a half Cuban sandwich, a fish taco and a serving of pionono. The cost was $10.00, and while the portions weren't huge, it was definitely filling. I'd say just the right amount for me without leaving with a bellyache. The cuban was tasty, and depending on where you're from, relatively authentic. I grew up enjoying the cuban sandwiches in Tampa, which are slightly different, but I've come to enjoy the SoFlo-style cuban sandwiches which is how Havana Hideout serves them. The bread was nice and crusty, the pork was moist and meaty and overall the sandwich was pressed to perfection. The fish taco was the highlight of the meal. All the ingredients were so fresh from the veggies/fruit (chipotle cole slaw, lettuce tomatoes and pineapple) to the achiote rubbed fish, and the flavors were layered to give you a nice balance of sweet from the pineapple, spicy from the ahciote and smoky from the chipotle slaw. Really a nice combination. The pionono was also very good. The description on the menu is very apropos..."think tropical sheperd's pie." There's a nice spiciness to the ground beef which is wonderfully offset by the sweetness of the pineapple and raisin's included in the dish, and the sauteed plantains were icing on the cake...err pinonono. My wife had the two-handed tacos; one beef and one carnitas pork. I only managed to get a couple of tiny bites from her because they were also excellently prepared and she was really enjoying them. As with my dish, the ingredients were very fresh tasting. As some have noted, the service here is somewhat slow, but our large group spread out over three tables didn't feel ignored. The waitress was attentive and definitely polite, offering us all samples of their six versions of sangria so we could make up our minds as to which one we wanted. But you should expect to spend more time here than the average restaurant unless you make it a point to ask for your check once you are close to finishing your meal. The sangrias can be on the pricey side depending on which one you order, and the same is true for their microbrews, but I didn't feel that took anything away from the overall experience of Havana Hideout as we were their for the food. If you're in town looking for a watering hole to imbibe some libations for a few hours I could see where it might be an issue. All in all Havana Hideout is one of the tastiest meals I've had in a while, and I can see why it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

Went to HH on a whim last night, instead of Lapita's or Tacos Al Carbon. Not sure how to rate each against the other. The service was nice, that atmosphere is what it is. Nothing. But cool for what it is. We had already been down at BX Beer Depot, so there was no reason to have a beer, and they seemed a bit on the expensive side. I was with good company and yapping up a storm, so you could have served me a shit taco and i probably would have eaten it. But no shit, just some good middle of the road eats, some at a good price, and some better than others. I devoured my Ceviche and Chips. One of the two was too salty though, i don't recall now. Together they worked well and for 7 bucks, a good bit of food for me. I'd order again. I tried a beef empanada. Meh. I don't eat a lot of beef, so an empanada is not gonna take me anywhere. Also tried the Cuban sammy, which, while soft and non mouth abrasive, seemed a bit different. And it seems it may have been. Pulled pork and moz were the difference, and for me, what made it good. Too many Cuban's rip my mouth up and the meat slides out of the sammy upon a few bits. no such thing here. soft and warm. I'd eat it again. I didnt do the fish tacos, but saw the chicken and pork. they were loaded with meat, actually too much meat IMO. So, i'd go back, and try some other things, but IMO, this just isn't the kind of place that can warrant more than 3.5 stars. Cheers.

Went here on a Saturday night to find an empty, desolate restaurant. Not sure what Guy was thinking but this dive is nothing more than bland food. I've heard they are under new management so that could explain some things.

The few times I have been up to Lake Worth, I always wanted to try Havana Hideout, but they were either closed or we had already eaten. Last night I was heading up there for a girls night and I finally got my change to try the place out. I had high hopes for the place since it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives a few years back. The place is cozy and relaxed, a chill vibe, tables outside under umbrellas, a few tables in the sand to make you feel like you're at the beach. The food however, was terrible. It was bland and over priced. We started with the Ceviche and chips for $9. We got a Styrofoam cup filled with large chunks of fish, capers, avacados and i believe salsa. It was so bland we had to pile on the hot sauce. We both ordered the Baja Fish tacos, an order of 2 for $9, grilled fish, pineapple and chipotle coleslaw. The only thing I tasted was the pineapple in the rare instance there was a piece. Even the hotsauce they provide is bland. I see the appeal in the ambiance but the food was lackluster. I will not be going back.

Another nice place to eat. Sensible prices, food seemed ok but didnt knock it out of the park for me. It seemed like a great place to just hang out at night and enjoy the vibe but I went at lunch time. I had the Fish Tacos and like the dish but it didnt pack a punch for me on this day. I would like to come back and try it again.

Don't even think about it. I made the mistake of bringing some clients here the other day and to say it was terrible would be putting it mildly. This place has gone so far downhill it is incredible. If you can't even make a cup of salsa with flavor you have serious problems. All four of us were disgusted with every part of the meal. No flavor in anything at all. Horrible, period.

I came here the other night to see a band play in their courtyard. When I looked up their website for the address, I saw a huge "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" sign - I had no idea they had appeared on the show. I hadn't planned on eating here, but then I just got curious. So when I arrived, I got a draft beer (they serve Yeungling!) and an empanada. The beer came in a small plastic cup, and the empanada was a bit smaller than I imagined. But oh boy it was good. Yes, it's fried, but it wasn't overly greasy. It was one of the better empanadas I've had... and I'm a fan of those things. As for the location itself, it's a cute courtyard which unfortunately (but understandably) allows smoking. The inside bar is very tiny... then again, I don't think they expect people to be hanging out in there anyway. I'm dropping a star (or even two) for the lousy bathroom. They have two toilets in the women's bathroom, that are enclosed by CURTAINS. Can we say "ghetto"? The soap dispenser was nowhere to be found (we had to flag someone down for soap, and she brought back dishwashing liquid), and, while looking at the mirror, you could see into the left toilet's curtain. If you need to go, bring a female friend with you to stand guard and hold your curtain closed! There is plenty of parking located behind the Hideout... From Lake Ave, turn right on South L Street, and the parking lot will be on your left hand side.

What you see is what you get. This is a down right, cool, friendly, predictable place. It's a tiny little hideout in Lake Worth a few blocks from the beach. There's an outdoor room that's surrounded by beautiful plants. You may even miss it if your just walking down the street...but if you see it, make sure you stop in and grab a cold beer! Service was friendly and great. We definitely plan on coming back. Two thumbs up!

Loved this place three years ago. No Mas. We went a couple of times after it sold, and were pretty underwhelmed by the food. The service was always hit or miss, but hey - it was a dive, so that was OK. Had lunch today for the first time in about 9 months. STAY AWAY! My husband I both felt ill after eating here. We shared an order of guac, which was OK. Chips were bad. Both of us ordered baja fish tacos. The fish was disgusting - deep fried, and mushy like it had beed frozen, refrozen and then cooked. The rest was just tasteless and/or awful. I can say the service was really good, but we were they only ones there, other than a two-top that was just finishing. So sad, because before it sold we sometimes went three days a week. One more thing...They've raised the prices. Used to be great food for not alot of $. Now really, really bad food, that they should pay YOU to eat!

Overall a divey looking place with ok food. I was a little disappointed with the food. I got the Get What Guy Got special. A decent sampling of a half cuban sandwich, some plantain stew thing and a fish taco. The cuban sandwich was not very good and tasted a little like fish. The fish taco was bland. The plantain stew was ok. My date got the beef tacos. Those were good and a great portion for only 2 tacos. I will probably get that next time. I did however really enjoy the empanada (sold separately). I orrdered a beer, a Sierra Nevada seasonal. It came in a 12 oz. plastic cup and was shocked when the bill said $5.50. I will not be going back there for drinks, and probably not for the food anytime soon.

It's so funny that so many people know about Havana Hideout being on 'Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives', yet are surprised that the place is in fact.. a dive! If you go there knowing what to expect then you'll probably enjoy the experience. I went with a group of six on one of their $1.50 taco nights and was throughly impressed. We sampled all but the vegetable taco and found each to be pretty yummy. The favorite of the table was the pork which had great seasoning. The beef was also very good, if not a bit spicy for some tastes. The chicken was bland and had a bit of an odd taste that only a couple people truly enjoyed. Would have given 4 stars, but was unimpressed with the normal prices of some of the menu items/drinks and really didn't enjoy the chicken. A couple things to consider before you go: It's a dive in every sense. Meaning not the nicest bathrooms, canned soda, plastic ware, cheap napkins, hit-or-miss service, etc. My waitress was extremely nice and quite funny, but she wasn't the most attentive I've ever had. Also, my group of 6 had one picky eater who was not happy since tacos are NOT made to order. That means salsa and lettuce come whether you want it or not; pretty sure that other menu items work the same way. Oh and make sure you head over on a warm night: outside Lake Worth + no heaters = a very cold dinner! Will definitely return on another $1.50 night!

The location is great and it's a cute little restaurant. The outdoor seating is a nice touch, the only problem is it's easy to trip over everything since everything is so cramped together. The food is decent, nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. I tried 2 of the sandwiches and both were A-OK.

The food had good flavor. My wife and I loved the empanadas. I had the "What Guy had" and it was rather tasty. The service was pretty bad though. And even though we were sitting outdoors, all the tables are close to each other. Everyone around us was smoking, and since we are non smokers, it was horrible

We were visiting from out of town and found out about this place through Restaurant.com . After we seated ourselves, the waitress advised us they NO longer accept restaurant.com gift certificates. We decided to give it a shot anyways. We ordered some chips and salsa, but when the waitress brought them out she told us the restaurant has decided to go green and no longer use places. So we ate the chips out of a brown bag and salsa in a styroform cup. They could have placed the chips in basket. The menu is limited... My friend and I both had the empanadas which were good but grease heavy.. My wife had pork tacos which were good. Another friend had the Cuban who stated it was below average and another friend got fish tacos which were the worst he has ever had. Very little fish with lots o coleslaw. When he went to look for the waitress to order something else she was on a personal call. He ended up getting the tamale which was better but again in a lot of grease. Overall... save your money and go else where. Just a heads up they only accept a credit card if you spend $15 or more. But we would be very surprised if this place survives.

Have been coming HH for a while and was sad to hear it sold. I did have a great lunch soon after the sale so I had hope: the food was still great, service quirky but attentive and clientèle a nice mix of all walks of life. But dinner last night sadly was nowhere near what I have come to expect of HH. Food alternated between overly spiced and so bland I was looking for salt. The homemade black bean chips were soggy and poorly cooked the guacamole flat and service poor. The customers have gone down hill along with the food. In the past the restaurant was an interesting mix of folks from bikers to trendy 20-somethings last night most tables were occupied by grungy dudes with their ratty pit bulls. We honestly felt bad that we subjected out of town guest to the lackluster meal. Can't wait to try the old owners new restaurant down in Boynton.

We love trying new places, and found this from DDD. We are glad we stopped! So let's remember that the purpose of DDD is to find great "D"ives, and this is one! The main seating area is outside, the food is made in a food truck, the bar and restrooms are in a small building next to it all...it has all the makings of a dive. We had the salsa trio per the recommendation of our server -- mediocre We had the "Get what Guy got Platter" and it was awesome, the fish taco was so flavorful and incredible, the pionono was very good, and the cuban was great! The Tomatillo Shrimp Ceviche wasn't really like ceviche, it was more like shrimp in a tomatillo salsa, but it was good. The craft beer on draft was great. Yes, they do serve it in small plastic cups, but it was cold & wet, and I liked it! They have free Wi-fi for those that are interested. Our server had the whole place, and although not terribly busy, he was hustling. He did well and took care of us. We are patient in casual places like this because the atmosphere speaks volumes...it is what it is! I am rating this as 5 stars because for what it is, it deserves it! So my final recommendation: fish tacos & pionono...and of course beer!

The bar is not bad. When you eat outside, its a different story. I went in the middle of the day to get lunch. There was only 3 other tables besides mine in the establishment. My server ignored my table when she walked past us 4 times until a patron informed her that we were not being taken care of. She had an attitude the entire time. I did not like my food at all and wanted to return it (because there were potatoes in the empanadas that looked like mushrooms and the cevice I ordered was the same exact thing as the chips and guac appetizer I had previously) but the server once again was not being attentive because she was eating her food in plain sight. She decided to be argumentative and say that we were wrong in our complaints, and instead of offering anything else, she just said that she will take it all off of the bill and we wont have to pay anything. I had no issues paying, until she kept stating that she will let us walk for free. There was no manager in sight. Worst customer service Ive ever had.

I want to rate this fun little eatery a five star, but will have to revisit it another time for that last one. The deep fryer was on the fritz, and my taco shells and an empanada seemed to fall victim to it, incredibly tasty as they were. This place is a hidden gem for foodies. Great fresh tortillas, amazing nicely spiced tacos, and tasty empanada fillings put places like Rocco's to watery wimped out shame. The patio, with its sand-pit tables and cool tree-lined interior is what Florida patio dining should be all about: FUN. The bar has six different kinds of sangria. I think it's a beer and wine place. They had a chocolate chili ice cream with a hint of cinnamon that was out of this world. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy. My other minor ding for the star is that they tell you the credit card machine is broken, and see the ATM inside if you need cash. If you want to be a cash-only joint, do what the Floridian does on Las Olas and at least be up front about it.. Personally I think that credit cards would bring in more business, and the small percentage increase would still keep prices reasonable and should not stop anyone from raving about the amazing food that they serve here. It's been featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives in 2009, in case that means anything to those who like to say that they follow the dining divas of the Food Network.

Went on a Thursday for $8.99 All You Can Eat Tacos - you get your choice of Chicken, Ground Beef, Pork, or Black Bean. I went with two pork, two black bean. It arrived with lettuce only; cheese, sour cream and salsa are extra. (Which we had ordered, in foresight of this.) The pork was tender, but tasteless - seriously lacked flavor. The black beans, however, we're kickin' in my mouth with spices... very delicious! If you mixed the two together, it was pretty decent but not worth $8.99. They were all out of draft beer except Amber Bock, which is cool, and our group downed two pitchers. The atmosphere is exactly as "DD&D's" states - it's surely a dive and that's how Lake Worth needs it. I'm itching to try the stuff that was listed at the "Diners, Drive-In's, & Dives" portion of the menu, so I'll go back for sure. I removed one star for the tasteless pork and the price of the All You Can Eat Tacos and one star for the really strange bathroom setup. (Two "stalls" that are separated by curtains - no doors.)

A relaxing atmosphere and some decent food, but I didn't quite feel like I was getting a great value for my cash. The dishes we ordered were served totally barebones / a la carte with little-to-no presentation. I have no problem with basic if the price reflects that... but $6.50 for 2 tacos with no side isn't what I consider to be on the cheaper side of the spectrum. Not outrageous, but you may just feel like you were expecting a little something more when you get your order... know what I mean? Even the beers were served in notably tiny plastic cups. Also, they don't have a wide assortment of Cuban food here... which is fine, but I just wanted to mention that since the name could throw some people off. The food itself is good though. The fish tacos were flavorful and the Cuban sandwich had a pleasant crispiness to it... oddly enough, they make it with mozzerella instead of the traditional Swiss cheese. To all of you dog owners out there, the seating outside is dog friendly. Something I now appreciate since becoming a proud daddy to a Shiba inu puppy a couple of months ago. Overall, not a bad place that could be great with some tweaks.

Sitting here now, probably the 5th time I have been here. I was hooked from the first time I came! Unfortunately I shouldn't have come back after the first time. I usually order the same thing (grilled fish tacos), they have no consistency! Sometimes they are too hot to eat, and I love heat! Very unimpressed about the last few visits :( for some reason everything here lacks good flavor and leaves you looking for something else. Very sad to have to wright this review.

Super Awesome. Go Tuesday or Thursday nights. Tacos $1.50 each. They are off the charts awesome. I always end up getting the Pork Tacos + The Green Salsa (ask for it) and a Vanilla Porter. They have the smallest bar in Palm beach. I've spent many a nights there kicking a few back and enjoying good conversations with the patrons. Guy from Diners DriveIns and Dives ate here.

So how can a cuban place not have mojitos? Or, frozen drinks for that matter (ya, I know that's not really cuban but almost every other place in the neighborhood makes a great margarita or miami vice) Yet, Havana does have 5 different sangrias; all at $3 during happy hour and $10 for a sangria sampler (5 dentist mouthwash type cups). Happy hour is approximately 12:00-7:00 PM in the day. Food comes from a truck named Wanda. Items range from ceviche to empanadas to samplers of the "cuban" or latin items. The restaurant was featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and, definitely has character. Rather than stalls in the bathroom there are curtains. The waitstaff is very slow and leisurely that one wonders if ganga smoking is part of the staff requirements. Don't order the Bloody Mary ceviche. Fish tacos weren't bad. Prices were great and atmosphere unique and quite cool. Go if in the mood for relaxation and never bring a high maintenance date. In high season, apparently the lunch crowd brings music and a party in the afternoon. Things started to heat up around 3:00 PM, but apparently I went in September, the low season.

Went here with a group for dinner. We sat near the stage, ordered drinks and a little food and listened to a guy play classic rock cover songs. The music was super loud for such a small place and he would tune his guitar for several minutes in between songs at the same loud volume. Couldn't hear anyone at the table. It is pet friendly but don't expect all dogs to be on leashes! There was a large dog running around the tables as several of its owners tried to capture it. Wish I could comment on the food... first round of drinks were finished, then the second, but still no food or communication from the server. When we raised the issue with the server and asked to cancel our order and pay for our drinks they became extremely defensive (acting like it was our fault and we were the problem) and said we had to pay for everything or she would call the cops. We were basically threatened into paying for food that we never received just to get the heck out of there asap.

I was disappointed with my latest experience at HH. I've been here numerous times and while the food is usually delicious the service has been, for the most part, sketchy at best. We placed our order and over an hour later it finally arrived! If you are on a schedule this might not be the place for you!

Went there for breakfast. The banana pancakes were ok but the uevos rancheros were a travesty. We also had the pumpkin bread pudding which was loaded with raises so tasted like a bowl of raisins with cinnamon, GROSS. To top the experience I started to feel ill. I tried to use their bathroom and there are two stalls separated by a curtain that closes with a clip used to hang clothing to dry. I then was forced to go to the nearby Starbucks where I proceeded to be violently ill in the bathroom. We should have walked away when we thought the waitress picked her nose. Olso there were only two other tables and the service was really slow. Will never repeat !

Went there today with the family. My 9 year old daughter loved her beef tacos with salsa, sour cream and guacamole on the side. My son ordered the mojo pork nachos, he and I agreed that they were the best nachos we ever had. My wife had the Baja grouper tacos loaded with guacamole and salsa, she couldn't finish the second one, everything tasted so fresh and good. I had the Guy platter and also have a lot left over. I have to say the tacos and nachos are the best I ever had in South Florida. The atmosphere is really nice outdoors under the tiki huts, fans blowing to keep it cool. The waitstaff was really friendly and accomodating, will definitely bring friends and family when they come to visit.

3 sangria and not even close to a buzz. Guacamole is good. Tacos over rated. It made the the foodie network review about 8 years ago and they are still hanging on to that on their menu. Do not believe the hype.

This place is over rated. I was so disappointed in my whole experience there. Let me begin & I'll keep this to the point. The inner "bar" area has all of like 4 stools and is absolutely tiny. The ladies restroom is horribly designed, there are two "stalls but there is no partition, instead there are shower curtains to (attempt to) provide privacy. They serve local craft beers but, they are served in flimsy plastic cups. They do offer samples which is nice. The outdoor area is definitely cute & has an island feel with sand floor and picnic tables for seating. There is a stage for music. There was a two man jazz band playing which was great. That was the best part. Now for the two most important factors, the food and the service. Food, it wasn't good. My friend and I ordered the fish tacos which were cold. I don't know what type of fish was in them either. They were so spicy that it was impossible to tell where the fish started and the "mango salsa" ended. The flavors just mingled together in this spicy matrix of I don't know what. The food comes with no sides, no salsa, no sour cream. You do get a plastic spork though. The shells were crunchy but, nothing special you could pick them up at any store, unremarkable really. The food is made on a food truck in the back of the place, there's no kitchen. For $9 it's a major let down. I only ate 1 of the 2 tacos. The service was just, okay. Nothing great. The waitress seemed to just be lingering about. We inquired about sauces for the tacos and she really wasn't aware of what they had. She brought two plastic squeezy bottles, one green sauce, one red. The bartender inside was cool. He had personality at least. I had very high hopes for this place. I wanted to give 5 stars. 2 stars, one for the patio area outside and one for the great music. This place should just stick to booze and atmosphere, leave the food to somewhere else.

Haven't been here since they changed owners. The last time we were here, we came back two days later. Well, today was just bad. The guacamole was pretty good along with the blue corn tortilla chips. However, the crispy fish tacos were downright tasteless. The salsa had no flavor and looked bland and tasted the same. The Cuban was fine so stuck with that as the goto meal. The pionono was okay but nowhere near as good as the last time. Overall very disappointing given we were waiting and talking about this for weeks. We probably won't go back unless we get someone to try and tell us otherwise - unless we need a Cuban fix.

First time here and the food was great. They only had one waitress named Tracy. She was taking orders, running food at the same time and was also bartending.I give her credit I don't know how she does it with a bunch of customers every where. But the place is very chill. No wonder a lot of people likes to hangout here. Will definitely come back but please add more staffs especially on a busy Monday night like this.

Reviews should be in the context of the business. Havana hideout is supposed to be a dive bar with an island feel that caters to the beer drinkers that want to hang out and listen to an open mike night or live music. Good beer list, great laid back vibe.

  • Katie T.

Nothing special. We didn't get "what guy got" but our guac pork? tacos were seriously lacking in flavor. One waitresses/bartender for the whole place. Cool craft beer selections, but def a "dive".

  • Scott T.

My wife and I love to look for places showcased on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. This place falls into the Dive category. I had the Cuban Sandwich/fish taco/pionono sampler. All items featured on the show. The fish taco was the only item I did not like, but then again, I don't like any fish tacos and this one had pineapple on it (which I don't like as well). The Cuban was good but the star was the pionono. Sort of a Cuban Shepard's Pie. It saved the meal. Service was mediocre, but the setting was unique. We sat outside, under a thatch took with sand under our feet. Worth trying.

Server was very nice. But the DDD fish tacos had no flavor. Churros were the best thing on menu!!

  • Cindy L.

The only thing I can say is Guy should come back and see how his recommendations are doing. They must have a new chef. Food is completely tasteless. Had the guacamole. No cilantro no lime. No salt. No pepper. Same for the mango lobster ceviche. That was 90% mango and 10% lobster. No flavor. Then we had the pionono. Beef ok. Everything else... No flavor. The fish tacos I don't think had any seasoning on them. I added their version of hot sauce. The green tasted like vinegar. The red had a little flavor but very plain. Ordered the gluten free beer, which was horrible. The corn chips that came with the guacamole and ceviche were soft, soggy and inedible. I was here a couple years ago and it was great. Not now. Will NOT be back....

DDD got it right! A semi-permanent food truck serving great Cuban and Mexican food. I enjoyed "Guy's" 2 toco combo with some great Colorado Fat Tire beer. The Special Beer Menu appears to revolve on some basis no doubt determined by the Beer Distributer? But a good way to revolve through craft beers selected by some one who knows more that I do. No frills, outside only dining, without much shade. But the food is great.

I'll preface my review by stating I didn't have anything to eat here. I went to have a beer at a dive bar and this qualifies. The bar seats 5 and of course there is the outside area but I sat at the bar and talked with a regular and a very nice bartendress. The place had a Touch music system so you have 100's of choices and they had PBR for $2.50 a draft and I was happy. The ceiling with all of the old album covers was cool. When I want to disappear and just sip on a beer for a few hours I'll consider this place again.Relaxed vibe.

  • Kelly F.

The friendly service, ambience and kitschy & rustic vibe are awesome here. Definitely get the guacamole and house made chips (perfection!), and the pionono was to die for. They also have a great beer selection. But the rest of the food we had was just meh -- the grilled fish taco had no flavor, the fried fish taco tasted like bad, old fish, and the Cuban sandwich tasted like it was made with cheap meat and Heinz mustard. This place is definitely worth a trip, but don't expect fresh, high quality food. I'm giving it three stars because I want to root for it.

  • Ralph C.

Well this was the second time that I came to eat at Havana Hideout and I was again totally disappointed. They somehow in their past received an award for their fish tacos but I cant imagine why. The fish (at least I hope it was) is ground up and in a soggy sauce for two of these you pay $9.00. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if you do go definitely just drink dont eat the food

This place has some great elements - outdoor seating, island vibe, area for a band, games out back, good service and a nice selection of food. My friend and I decided to go here for a bite and a few drinks, we both were lured in by the array of sangrias. I ordered the Mango Margarita one and my friend ordered the peach something or other. I'll be honest, I couldn't stand mine. I didn't think my friends was any good either but we ended up switching. We had the pork green chili nachos, firstly they were plenty for two, we got the monday night "in the biz" deal so they were only $7. They were really tasty, but not enough to make me go running back there. Pet Peeves about the place include the fact that there is no full bar - how can this have Havana in the title and not serve Rum? Secondly the bathrooms are a bad attempt at a Pinterest DIY. There is one room, no lock on the door, two toilets with shower curtains as dividers! WTH is that all about?! Anyhow, I'm not 100% sold on this place, if I was in the area I would go, but I wouldn't make a special trip to go there.

As a dive-bar I can't help but give Havana Hideout a great review! It's exactly where you want to be to see the colorful people who live and hang out in Lake Worth, to hear people do their thing at open mic, and to enjoy a beer, the game, or just sit around outside on the Adirondacks and shoot the breeze. Please don't come here expecting the meal of your life. It's a bar that serves food -not a restaurant that serves booze.

  • Sarah W.

Beef tacos were amazing and full of flavor especially when served by a visibly stoned server distracted by the cars driving by and who rolls his eyes at you when you ask for the check so you can escape the sounds of the terrible band playing. Two thumbs down for the inattentive, slow and borderline rude service.

What a disappointment. Prior to arriving in the Lake Worth, my wife and I did a "Yelp" search for eateries in the area. Havana Hideout looked great. The menu was creative, and the restaurant looked festive. And hey, Guy Fieri had been there! When we arrived, it looked dirty and run down. This first impression did not deter us. We sat outside and looked at the menu. First, the beer selection was not as extensive and diverse as advertised. a very limited, unimaginative selection. No worries, we were there for the Cuban cuisine. Second impression: it took way too long for our server to acknowledge that we were there and she was the one who sat us. It was a Monday night. The restaurant and she were not at all overwhelmed. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which were advertised as the "best in South Florida" according to their outdoor blackboard. I ordered some sort of Cuban pork taco with mango salsa and some slaw. Our table backed up to the kitchen window. Our food was sitting at the window for at least ten minutes. If I knew it was ours, I would have stood up and got it myself. Bottom line, it was not warm when she finally brought it to our table. My wife said that the fish taco were mediocre at best. My Cuban thing had very little pork. The mango salsa was quite tasty. It's a shame. This place COULD be awesome. Their menu is great but the execution lacks terribly. Overall, I would not return or recommend.

Got the nachos and when they arrived the Chips were cooked in old oil and the shredded chicken was bland. Also while having our dinner my daughter noticed a rat crawling right by our table which totally freaked her out. I would not recommend this place at all!

Came here because of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Food was good. I had the DDD tacos and boyfriend had the Cuban. Both were delicious!! Mexican beers were only $2.50 so he was happy. I had the sangria which was delicious but sadly $5 for a little 12 oz cup. Environment is great!! Nice to just kick back and have a few drinks. Service is a little lack luster though. Took a little bit to get a second round and the boyfriend had to ask for lines several times. They weren't very busy. But food and environment was great!! We'll come back on our next trip here! :)

The black bean chips are to die for and the mango salsa,,,aye carumba. I love sitting out in the open area which feels hidden away but you can still people watch on Lake Avenue. I am a fan and I recommend it to all who like a chill time.

All you can eat taco Tuesdays for $8.99! I was expecting tint tacos with barely any meat and boy was I wrong. They were loaded with meat. I really enjoyed the roasted garlic pork tacos.....yummy. The decor in my opinion is super cute at night with the lighting and island tunes going on. Great for a very casual date night.

I really liked this funky, laid-back joint. The vibe is very tropical and the staff was friendly and helpful. I picked this place because it had been on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and was impressed with both the draft craft beer selection and the awesome food. I ordered the platter with 1/2 Cuban sandwich, 1 grilled fish taco and 1/2 order of pionona. The Cuban sandwich was authentic and grills just right. The fish taco was a little spicy but the flavors were out of this world. The pionona was the biggest surprise and was absolutely delicious. This place is absolutely on my "do again" list.

Havana Hideout has outdoor seating and nice atmosphere in downtown Lake Worth. You can sit under a hut with sand under your feet. The wait staff is friendly and helpful as a first time visitor. The food is decent if you're looking for fish tacos, Cuban sandwiches, or shrimp cerviche. I'm sure happy hour and nightlife there is lively with a stage and drink specials. It was quiet and relaxing during my lunch experience.

Man this place is awesome for happy hour or any time went with a few friends and the portions were big. Big and tasty. Place is good for all. And if you want to catch the games this is a great place for it

I love coming to this place every time I come to Lake Worth! It's a dive, so that should be your expectation! I love the semi outdoor seating, picnic tables, a small stage with live music most evenings and sand between your toes! Love their fresh salsa and chips and their fish tacos! I usually get the pick two tacos, because I never can make up my mind! They also have a great beer selection with taps changing all the time. They also have great sangrias... Can you tell I've been here a bunch of times. A great chill place to enjoy conversation, music, beer and food with friends.

After eight straight visits to DDD restaurants which were all excellent our winning streak ended with Havana Hideout. I give it one star for a funky, relaxed atmosphere and Red Stripe beer. Don't see how Guy could have liked what was served to us. Tasteless fish tacos, an unremarkable and barely edible Cuban sandwich and a mixture of ground beef and Latin seasoning that was noteworthy more for its dripping grease than for its taste. The pricing here is from Mars. A bottle of Red Stripe was reasonable at $3 but small cups of $6.50 draft or Sangria were not. The $9 plate of DDD tacos had half the food of the $12 DDD sampler and looked like a tiny appetizer. Coming from New Mexico we know true Mexican food and this misses the mark by at least two barn doors. Pleasant atmosphere and forgettable food sums it up.

Great place great food and GREAT Beer!! My wife and I just moved from Asheville NC. Where craft brew is king this place fits right in. Sand on the patio nice Island feel all is missing would be the ocean view. The waiter Summa was so passionate and was an all around great guy. Put it this was we both thought he owned the place. My wife had the pinono which was a great Puerto Rico comfort food. I had the DDD grilled fish tacos. That was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. It was awesome.

They really don't even deserve this one star that I am giving them. I have never been so offended in my life by terrible customer service. I just moved to South Florida, and I was there to meet up with a meetup.com group for the street art festival. We were sitting at a patio table drinking beers waiting for the others and the waitstaff kept pestering us to order more. It was so annoying. The guy we met up with was making casual conversation with the blonde waitress saying "I was here for the festival last year" and all she says is "Yeah! YOU DIDN'T TIP LAST YEAR EITHER". I was dumbfounded. I decided to let that one slide without opening my feisty mouth. Then the owner comes out and says "Are you guys going to order food?" I said "Can't I just sit here and enjoy a beer?!" She say's "No you can't, you have leave. I am in the real estate business" I was so off put by the terrible over priced service it ruined the rest of my experience at the festival. In conclusion, I repeat, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

This was our third Triple-D escapade. My husband and I have decided to visit a Triple-D restaurant (a place featured in Guy Fieri's Diners-Dine-Ins-and-Drives) wherever we go. So, when we visited Florida, we searched Flavortown USA for the nearest spot. This was the nearest from our hotel. We were not disappointed, but we weren't really wowed by it, too. The food was okay, for me. The local beer went well with the food. I didn't like the empanada. I think the Tacos needed more heat, but the combination was good. Cute tiki hut-style decor outdoors. It was a nice experience.

  • Leesa F.

Funky, outdoorsy do your own thing kinda place. Each of us at the table (outside) ordered something different and were all pleased. Our server was efficient. Not overly friendly but by no means rude - efficient. We're not sure why the reviews are so mixed. If you are looking for fine dining this isn't the place for you. On the flip side if you want to grab a few drinks, some good food and just hang out then definitely visit this low key, fun and casual little place.

  • William B.

Outside under tent, thatched roof sitting areas. Wood on the floors covered with beach sand for that day at the beach feel. Mixed furniture in the dinning area, some metal tables, some wooden picnic tables. Live Music Entertainment usually on Friday/Saturday. Most chairs are uncomfortable. An array of ethnic food types. The food is decent but not great. The kitchen is in a food truck, the restaurant is attached to a bar. The place was shown on Guys DDD. The check comes in a best up wooden box. Good place for after a day at the beach or if you're seeking a casual place to kick back. Their Cuban Sandwich is good. Soft drink cups are way too small.

  • Tim K.

Cuban sandwich, which was on Diners Drive-ins, and Dives was not very good. I wouldn't even think of going back, especially when you have so many other options. Most of the food really isn't anything special at all, and it's not like it's a great atmosphere...it's a complete dump with no view, nothing exciting, and sub-par food. Try Havana...way better

    (1)
  • Holly P.

If I could give zero stars I would. I gave this place three tries because so many people speak so highly of it. I've never had anything good here (besides beer). It seems very dirty. The servers looked like they just rolled out of bed, and this was at 6:30pm. They want $9 for guacamole, which is ridiculous to me. I will never go back.

I'll keep it short. No idea how it was back in the DDD days, don't care, Guy is overrated anyway. They get GREAT beers here, I will give them that, and the only time I will even step foot in there is on a pub crawl so I can get my freebie and corresponding trinket. The place is loaded up with some crusty butt locals who think they have reached nirvana. That is the charming part. They haven't. We get it, you hate tourists and you are too cool for school. That act is so played, it is officially clown shoe. Lake Worthlessness. The live music occasionally almost coaxes me in there, but then I remember all the bad times. Once I asked 'what craft beers are on special for 2.50each?' 'This beer, that one, this one....oh and the smoked mocha porter' Well, hell yeah! I will have that smoked porter maam. After the pour....8.50 each. That is the kind of spoon-brained stuff you can expect at HH. There is no Cuban culture here. Get your Cuban sandwich at Bohio's in Lantana or Little Havana on dixie. Their Cuban's will make your day. If you wan't some hare-brained thinking like you would expect from Fidel or Raul, then by all means, go to HH, ask for justice, and get what you get.

They might have been better when DDD was there. But seems like they quit "trying", and only "rode" on their short lived "fame" from the show. The service sucked, the music was so loud (and I like heavy metal!!) it was obnoxious. The server or whoever, probably the owner, was banging around chairs. I guess to set up for later? But still, had NO regards for the rest of us sitting there spending money already. We got the fish taco combo, the ground beef tacos, fish dip and chips. The fish dip was the best of all, and even THAT was subpar. It's a shame really cuz they could've really rode the success to new heights, instead of just relying on the DDD show. : (

I had what Guy had. Guy Fieri, TV personality on the Food Network, stopped by and taped a segment for his show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." I had what he had, which consisted of a fish taco, a pressed Cuban sandwich and pionono. I thought it was good, but not earth-shattering. I washed it down with a Florida Cracker microbrew. The place is located in a portion of Lake Worth which leads to the beach. There are lots of dining options in this eight-block stretch, but Havana Hideout certainly has a unique perspective on the eating-out experience. I was there in the early afternoon to eat, and this place has a laid-back feel. At night, it'll have musicians strumming guitars and singing to a crowd of patrons, who are sitting on picnic tables. Seating is mostly outdoors. Not sure that I have the inclination to return, but you have to try everything at least one time.

Yuck. The inside is cramped and dank with a tiny bar crowded with drunk by noon old guys who are filling the small space with cigarette smoke. The outdoor area feels just as crusty with sticky tables and thin sand on the ground that reminds me of the sand in those old fashioned public ash tray stands. Ugh. Also, the first time I went there was when I had just moved into town and was hoping for a cool new spot to have a happy hour drink, right? Wrong. I asked the bartender for one of the craft beers on tap that were listed on the happy hour sign. She proceeded to tell me that they were out of this, that and the other so finally I asked what she did have on tap. One choice- so I said I'd have that, whatever it was I don't remember...and then she charges me $8.00! For one beer. In a plastic cup. Ugh. Guess I should have spoken up right then, but I didn't, my fault. However, I wasn't asking what beers they had for 8 bucks, I was asking what beers they had on special. Hmmm. Not recommended.

Fish tacos....sangria... by far the best choice here. I'm not a big fan of the seedy element of Lake Ave and surrounding areas but it's good. The sangria is excellent. Rice and beans were perfect. Cheap and quick service. Entertainment? Well.... let's just say we were glad he went on break....his "groupies" were entertaining though.

the set-up is really chill and casual. to hang out and have some drinks in this place is a very good idea. i recommend the usual, taco-salad or taco bowls. they're easy to eat and a quick fix for the hungry. they have music as well with local artists or just anyone who can sing, i guess. really easy-going place, no need to dress to impress.

Not worth the trip. The "have what guy had" was 1/2 Cuban sand, 1 fish taco and pionono. Nothing stands out. Empanada was good and the salsa homemade and fresh. Service the worst.

I had expected great things from this place after seeing it on Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives - I think maybe I expected too much. The food was decent, good chips, really good ceviche, some fish tacos that were kind of bland. I tasted the Cuban which was good, but too salty for me. The service is really the eh part of this place - they tend to run out of things and aren't all that attentive. Still it's a fun place - a good one to throw back some beers and munch on some snacks on the avenue.

Downtown Lake Worth always seems to be undergoing change. Parts of the community want to see it become the next downtown Delray, why other fear the change and are afraid of additional noise and visitors. How dare people want to come to your town and spend money. Fucking economy. But while some spots seem to be a revolving door there are a few businesses that are making it. Enter into the conversation Havana Hideout. A mostly outdoor spot with plenty of picnic tables and foliage to go around. There is a small inside bar that you can take up residence at but why not sit outside and enjoy the people watching. They have a really nice selection craft beer on tap with a couple of your macro swills for the non-adventurous types. They also serve wine and sangria. The food is Caribbean in influence with fish tacos and Cuban sandwiches galore. I can attest to the fish tacos probably being their signature dish. And the food is made in a Streamline trailer, that's pretty cool. The place gets a good amount of press including having been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Guy gets a lot of crap from people because of his style but you can't discredit his taste in food and the passion he has. Plus he gets to travel around the world, eating and talking about it. Isn't that what a lot of use dream about here on Yelp? Anyway, back to HH. There only downfall is that they are a mostly outdoor establishment. That means rain really hurts their business. The kitchen is typically shut down when it rains so you can't get food but the inside bar remains open. It is pretty small in there so it can get to be tight quarters pretty fast. There is a couple tables and some chairs just outside the main door that is under cover too. So watch the forecast if you plan on visiting. They have live entertainment most nights and it's not very loud. Usually just nice background music and you can continue having a conversation. The staff is quite nice as well and the owner, Ben, is almost always there. It shows that he has a very hands on approach to the business. Overall Havana Hideout is one of my favorite spots in Lake Worth's sometimes bizarre landscape.

This place has a lot of potential but they would need some serious changes in my opinion. Great location but the staff and even more-so the food are severely lacking. Everybody was friendly enough but they sure didn't give us much attention. The appetizer was good (smoked fish dip and chips/salsa). We all had taco's a couple beef and a couple fish. None of us were able to eat them. They were far from warm and even further from tasty.

So this is where all the ex-hippies hang out! The outdoor section was super cute with a hammock and tables on sand. (Don't wear high heels if you don't want to be stuck in the sand) There was a live band playing oldies and the ex-hippies singing along and dancing like it was 1969! They have sangrias in many different flavors.

I have walked past HH numerous times but never tried it; usually because the quality of the live music was not very good and I'm a musician. I finally tried it because it was featured on DDD. So, I had what Guy had: a fish taco, a pressed Cuban sandwich and pionono. The fish didn't seem fresh, but I could be wrong. The mango salsa on the top was good. The pionono reminded me of Hatian or Jamaican food, which fit the open-air, tiki hut setting. The Cuban sandwich was much like others, and I like them. Warning, the prices on the website menu are outdated so I felt overcharged! No music was on, so I used my iPhone. Finally someone took the hint and turned on some music. Good service from the solo waitress. We MAY go again...but only if/when there is no annoying, poor quality live music playing.

Walking around downtown Lake Worth, we stumbled upon this little eatery. Lured in by a taco character and customers notifying us of $2 tacos we dined. No $2 tacos. $3 Triple Berry Sangria was not to my liking. My friend enjoyed the $1 beers. Ordered the Guy platter for $11 which consisted of a little bit of all the classics sampled by Guy from Food Network. The food was disappointing. The fish taco was bland and flavorless. The cuban sandwich may have been the better of the three but not by much. In second place would be the shepherd's pie. The shepherd's pie was mediocre, some type of plantain on the top to create a texture contrast... not so much. 2 stars for the ambiance and venue. Love that there is such creative outdoor seating (sand pit with picnic tables), live band on a stage, dimmed lighting makes for a wonderful venue. Hoping that the menu changes and flavors can come with the change.

Live music, cold beer, sand, sun and sangria. This beer and wine only spot in downtown Lake Worth is a great way to end your day or start your evening. Towards the end of the downtown Lake Worth strip is a little piece of 'sink your toes in the sand' paradise. The food is good, the natives are friendly, the musicians are world class, and you don't have to change from your earlier romp on the beach. Just writing this makes me wish I was there right now. A chill way to pass the time among friendly people who just want to relax, laugh, imbibe and eat,

Would have given 4 stars last year, but menu changed and faves are gone... Salsas had no heat/flavor, out of gauc at noon!?, no cilantro in rice bowl anymore :(. Service is SO slow... It was worth it when the food was good, but not now. The reason for two stars is atmosphere and the shrimp tacos with chipotle slaw.

The first dive ive hit in while in Florida, my wife and I liked it a lot. Great little dive bar and good food. I had the two handed pork tacos and the were excellent. I will be back for sure.

I was not impressed with this place. I didn't expect anything spectacular but it was not good to me... at all. We ordered the ceviche and fish tacos... odd salsa and just not very good to me.

This is the first review I have ever written but I feel quite compelled to do so. First of all, I feared when this established switched ownership that it was only a matter of time before it self destructed. I used to love this place under the old ownership and I continued to return in the hopes it would be the same. I was consistently disappointed and last night was the final straw. We arrived around 7pm to have a drink and a bite of food prior to the fireworks. Little did I know we wouldn't have to wait until dusk for the fireworks to begin. While ingesting our medioce-at-best food and significantly overpriced and underpoured sangria and craft beer, our server spotted an apparently unwelcome patron inside. From the outside, she screamed an expletive, rushed into the bar, put her hands on this female and demanded she leave. While this was going on, a large group of women raised themselves from the patio and prepared for battle if the need arose. Fortunatley, the unwanted made the smart decision to leave. We also noted that our server had a piece of pizza delivered to her from her friends on the patio. Havana doesn't serve pizza. I remarked to my dining mates, "What does it say about the food here, if the servers won't eat it?!?" Well, that's only half the story. We enjoyed the fireworks display in Bryant park and returned to Havava with a group of friends. While enjoying our Dale's Pale Ale tallboy (the best priced thing on the menu) we observed a table of young women being belligerently drunk, shoving each other, screaming, crying, and cursing. A family with a young girl under the age of 4 were forced to make the decision to leave as the environment was too unsavory. This went on intermittently for a good 30-45 minutes until a couple of the less drunk alpha females decided it would be best to leave. There went the free entertainment, but smart decision on their part. Shortly thereafter, a couple of friends joined us. One friend had a cup from another establishment and was told it wasn't allowed. Cool, no problem, drink finished. Not good enough, cup needed to be out of site. Fine, put it in the backpack. At this point our server (same one from earlier in the day who had forcibly removed a patron) decided to tell our friend to put a shirt on. If anyone has been to downtown Lake Worth and Havana's you are familiar with the shirtless males. They are pretty much everywhere and I've seen plenty of them in Havana's myself. She used the excuse of this being a place of business. Yea, right. What would have normally been an acceptable excuse, falls short when the servers are cussing at patrons and if she really wanted to take offense to his inappropriate attire, she should have first taken a look in the mirror. Well, my friends abruptly left and she returned to us and told us we were having a good night. Apparently, we were leaving too. My husband had muttered "Jesus Christ" during the debacle and apparently that was grounds for dismissal. Another friend asked the server why she had allowed the table of belligerent drunk girls to continue their charade and the server tried to tell my friend they, too, had been asked to leave. Lie. We witnessed everything. Needless to say, my desire to continue to return to this place in the hopes I will once again be impressed has been permanently quelled. What was once a quirky, quaint, cute hangout has become a classless, shady, drunken dive bar. I won't be back and I would caution anyone to frequent this establishment. There are much better choices.

Let me start out by saying I created this account to specifically relay my evening at Havana Hideout to all. It was a most disturbing experience, and handled in such a way that I believe everyone deserves to know about how this establishments "management" handles its paying customers. I'm at local here in West Palm Beach (a native, actually!) and have worked previously as a server, bartender, as well as a hostess for many years - so you can say I'm "in the biz". I've frequented this establishment before - the food is usually of decent quality, but the service has always severely lacked; our group (ranging from 4-10 guests EVERY week) mainly kept returning for the live entertainment on Tuesday's. On this particular visit, both the service and the food were absolutely unacceptable, to say the least. My group (3 other guys + myself) are not a picky bunch - if our 2 orders of chicken tacos were even close to palatable, we would have gladly eaten them and went on with our evening, but the tacos were ICE COLD and inedible. The service was slow; it took an additional 20 minutes just to get our checks, and they still were attempting to charge us for the tacos for which we had not eaten ONE. The server was nice enough to promptly send a manager to fix the situation. But this is where the real nightmare starts. One member of my group spoke for all of us when he told the manager that the tacos were terrible, but, I will admit, he casually used the "s" word to describe the flavor of them in the process - oops! However, he used it so loosely and not with any sort of emphasis, so anyone in their right mind wouldn't take that single word as an excuse to raise their voice, as the manager did. The manager went on and on about how she didn't appreciate my friend using that word to describe "her food" and told him that indeed he was wrong - the tacos were made every day just the same, and that they were edible as they always have been. My friend apologized and stated that he simply wanted to let her know about the situation, and that he didn't mean anything by using that word - she promptly interrupted him, stating that she wanted to let HIM know that her food is consistent and that she would be "nice enough" to take the tacos off of the bill this time, but stated that she did not want us to return or she would call the police. Woah. How did this situation go from 0 to 100?! Needless to say, we were all completely revolted by her customer service skills, and started to walk out the back towards our car, which was parked out in the south parking lot. She followed us, and as she did my friend went on to say to her how ridiculous she was being, as we brought in many customers every week. The manager rudely stated that she didn't believe we did and that she didn't care about our $$ here - our patronage would "not make or break her business". Are you kidding me? We are ALL locals, and word-of-mouth spreads fast. Needless to say, we will never be going back, nor will any of our friends, family, or other locals we inform will ever go back to this establishment. Absolutely disgusting, Havana.

    (4)

  • Jade C.

Service was bad, food was worse ! Food had no flavor, it took forever to even find a server to take care of us, will not be going back !

This place fits that description, better than average but not worthy of to much hype.

the Cuban sandwich was the best i've ever had. PS - they were also featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives!

We checked this place out bc was on Triple D. Food was ok- they were out of their famous Cuban sandwich and the strawberry sangria flashed me back to college, drinking Boone farm. Good place to grab beer, sit outside and snack on chips and salsa.

I was not impressed with this place. I didn't expect anything spectacular but it was not good to me... at all. We ordered the ceviche and fish tacos... odd salsa and just not very good to me.

the set-up is really chill and casual. to hang out and have some drinks in this place is a very good idea. i recommend the usual, taco-salad or taco bowls. they're easy to eat and a quick fix for the hungry. they have music as well with local artists or just anyone who can sing, i guess. really easy-going place, no need to dress to impress.
